"Splash out a little for a wonderful hotel!"

Nor me or my girlfriend are rolling in the money by any stretch of the imagination but I truly believe in splashing out on holidays if you are to receive avhotelnof this calibre!

The staff contradicted all Italian stereotypes I've become used to hearing. As opposed to being arrogant, ignorant, stuck people we were met with the best of good manners throughout our stay.

It must be noted that such a hotel is for pure relaxation purposes and not a hive of activity but this is surely not a criticism.

An interesting observation was that when we asked massimo to assist us in booking a low cost hotel for the duration of our subsequent stay in Rome he could not have been more helpful. Can you imagine asking the receptionist at the London Hilton (or similar) to book you a night's stay at Leeds holiday inn (or similar!!) they'd take some look at you!!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those who enjoy luxuries but don't want to sacrifice a friendly, helpful staff to get it.

Dear Sir

Two weeks ago I stayed at your Hotel and although for just one night wanted to let you know that your Hotel is one of the best I have stayed in during my extensive travels around the world where I average 150+ days per annum.
I am a Royal Ambassador but wanted to make you aware that your Crown Plaza was off a standard far greater than any other Crown Plaza and superior to almost all of the Intercontinental Hotels I have stayed at.
The Rooms were excellant, the standard of service received from all staff extremely good and from the front desk duty manager exceptional.

Yours sincerely

Much Better Than Expected!!!

This hotel is fantastic! We stayed three nights and wished we booked a few more. The staff and service was excellent and would absolutely stay here again. It was quiet and relaxing, the rooms were large and comfortable, fantastic views of the bay, and the food was good. This hotel is not for the party crowd, but for those who just want to decompress and relax. It has a very nice pool and beach area, but kids activites are limited to the water. Not much else in the way of child programs. The location is ideal for exploring Pompei and the Sorrento coast. They provide shuttle van service to Vico Equense and Sorrento train stations, so there is no need to drive anywhere. Just jump on the local train (Circumvesuviana) at either stop and go where ever in the Naples area, including Pompei. It is cheap and convienent. If arriving by the local train, make sure you call the hotel for pick up (10 euros by taxi) at Vico Equense or wait for the scheduled shuttle.

Great location to explore the coast by car!

After having stayed in Rome, the spacious room was a welcome surprise, and the views of Mount Vesuvius across the bay of Naples were spectacular. The hotel is right on the water, with no other hotels overlooking, which gives it an exclusive feel, although access to a car is advised if you don't want to be limited by the twice daily bus service along the coast. The hotel was clean and modern, staff were extremely helpful, and the food was consistently excellent.

Fantastico!

“Hotel views overlooking Mount Vesuvius - stunning”

What a great find! This hotel suited us perfectly, mainly because we had researched and read reviews before we went and knew what to expect. With our SatNav, it was a relatively easy drive to the hotel from Naples airport.

Our room was a terrace suite which was sublime - bedroom, sitting room, fabulous bathroom, mirrors everywhere, loads of storage and the piece de resistance - a huge terrace overlooking the bay with Vesuvius with two sofas, table and chairs and a double sun lounger. Knowing Italian hotel room are always small and compared to suites in many hotels at 231 Euros per night, this I feel was good value for a luxurious well appointed suite.

Pool area lovely, plenty of loungers, but nippy though but I like that. Beach and jetty pleasant too.

We used the spa, steam room, jacuzzi and sauna - all complimentary. Our short time there was most pleasant. You only pay extra for treatments which were ridicously pricey.

Restaurant Gouache was a delightful romantic setting.

Breakfast was in the same place as the restaurant - gorgeous setting. Excellent choice of cereals, pastries, fruit, cooked etc. Very friendly and helpful staff serving you.

We used our car to have a day in Sorrento (fabulous marina) and explore hidden coves (stunning) and out of the way restaurants along the coast, buying wine in local shops to drink on our terrace for when we were back in our room. The underground parking at the hotel was safe, secure and easy to use. Just take your sense of humour and indigestion tablets with you when out on those windy hairpins!

We used the internet (1st hour free) in the lobby just to check in our flights and book seats for going home and to print off our boarding passes.

I just wish we had longer than 3 nights there.

“Awesome views and facilities”

I actually won a 2 night stay in this hotel but looking at the prices online it looks like I got lucky!
The hotel is really easy to find (driving from Naples airport) as it's right on the main road to Sorrento. As previous reviews have stated: unless you are a millionaire you really need to have your own transport as it is fairly isolated. Pompeii is only a 15 minute drive away, Sorrento about 30 minutes (depending on traffic) and Naples airport around 45 mins.
I work in the tourist industry and this is one of the nicest "entry level" hotel rooms I have stayed in - the room was comfortably large enough, comfortable bed and the bathroom was huge. This was a standard room with sea view - the views are stunning across the bay to Vesuvius.
The pool is lovely and was really quiet even on a June weekend in beautiful weather - it was so nice we didn't make it down to the beach but that looked good too.
We had a dinner in the restaurant which was a bit over-priced but still good food. The mini-bar, drinks in the bar, etc are expensive but not much more than elsewhere in the area and certainly not compared to other 4 star hotels in Europe.
I was very impressed with the friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Everyone we had dealings with went out of their way to assist - I wasn't really expecting that in a hotel like this.
We will definitely go back.

"A gem of a find on the north Amalfi Coast”

This hotel is a pleasant surprise on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. First, let me set the scene for you. In this region, there are the natural beauty spots of Sorrento, Amalfi, Ravello and Capri.

The rooms are all of modern design and well appointed, complete with rain-head shower. Caution, however, when you book a room with a balcony. Here, as in other Italian locations, a room with a balcony is a six-inch ledge the width of one window. I kid you not! Upon my surprise, I asked them to relocate me to a proper balcony and what I found was a 2-foot deep balcony with a wall that blocked my view of Vesuvius from the bed so I moved back to the 6 inch balcony.

The SpaMarine was wonderful; the private beach was beautiful and quiet; and the Gouache Restaurant had food to die for.

It is about 40 minutes by car to downtown Sorrento (during normal workday traffic) and about 2.5 hours to Ravello. It's not really near anything but if you want a great place to escape for a spa weekend then this is it.

"A Great Place To Take A Break"

We stayed here for a couple of days and wished we had booked for a little longer. The hotel is on the very busy Naples to Sorrento coast road, but we had a seaview room and didn't notice the traffic at all. Judging by the photos in the elevators there used to be what looks like a cement factory on the site and the hotel appears to have been designed to look the same, which is bizarre. However, although it isn't very imposing from the outside the inside is great.

Our corner room had a good view of the private pool and the sea and was very well appointed. A couple of the items of furniture were a little worn but the general standard was high. The bathroom had a kidney-shaped tub and a separate walk-in shower and was beautifully fitted.

Breakfast was is a separate building, only 20 yards from the main hotel. It felt very luxurious taking breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea with Vesuvius in the distance.

In all, I would welcome a chance to return to this hotel. Not only was it the best value of all the hotels on our trip it was easily the best.

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot on the Sorrento coast. The views from the rooms and the pool and beach are great towards Naples and the Vesuvius.

It is close to Castellammare and within reasonable distance of Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. Although, the traffic to get to either of these places can be a little bad in high season. It took us about 1 hr once to get to Positano.

So if you plan to just stay in the hotel, this is a perfect location. If you want to go Sorrento and Amalfi coast towns, just keep in mind that you may experience driving delays.

We have a 7 year old child who enjoyed both the pool area and the beach very much. We had the breakfast included in our rate and it was pretty good but nothing spectacular.

We stayed at a king bed deluxe room with one extra bed. The room was nicely sized, especially the bathroom, with both a shower and a jet tub. The bedding was very comfortable (my wife is very picky) both for us, and the extra bed for our child as well.

We had drinks at the lobby bar, which has tables outside. Food and drinks were great. A beautiful spot to watch the sunset or enjoy the nighly live music.

Amazing Room
We stayed for 4 nights for a relaxing break, and had an amazing time. As a platinum priority club member, we were upgraded to a fabulous room - one window overlooking the coast, the other across the bay at Vesuvius - and a massive private terrace!!
The hotel is a way out of the main town, but the location is beautiful and just right if you want to explore. We had a hire car from the airport which was lots of fun although my partner soon got used to the Italian driving and was driving like a local within 24 hrs! As we went out of season the traffic was just fine - and the weather was near to perfect.
I would highly recommend this hotel - all the facilities we could ask for, beautiful sunsets, a fabulous view, lovely food in the restaurant (not the cheapest, but convenient so we were happy with it!) ... and plenty of free parking.
I would go back tomorrow if I could - the only complaint was that we ONLY booked 4 nights!!!

We have 2 families traveling (10 people) and the hotel staff was helpful and understanding to our needs. We find the services (both front desk and restaurant) to be hospital and understood what family-style vacation is like, which is important to us especially when we have young kids under 7. Great view from the hotel, within minutes to Sorrento, and we all truly enjoyed our time!

“Superb Hotel!! A Must!! But plan your travelling.”
We booked this hotel for our fortieth wedding anniversary break.
We flew to Naples from London and hired a car and drove to Crown Plaza. From the outside you wonder whatever sort of place this is, but do not be put off. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was really good. It had plenty of room, was clean and comfortable. The room had windows on two sides, one of which overlooked Vesuvius across the bay. The bathroom was excellent having a five piece suite. There were two bath robes and two pairs of slippers. The towels and bed lined were changed daily and at night it was so quiet. The breakfasts buffets suited us fine, and the restaurant and bar service and food were first class. We would not want to stay anywhere else along this coast.

“Great Stay!”
My family and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza earlier this month for 8 nights. The staff at the Reception were very helpful. We had 2 connecting rooms, with wonderful views of the Bay. Staying here was well worth it, especially for the views! We booked at very reasonable rates, directly with the hotel. Breakfast is quite standard. One thing we particularly liked was that the rooms were not carpeted - there was wooden flooring. It smelled vey clean. Bathroom was wonderful . The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't have been friendlier.
As per earlier reviews, one really needs a car when staying here. Luckily, we had hired a car - this proved to be a bonus. The hotel is well located for visiting the Tourist Attractions - Pompeii, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Salerno etc. If parking in Pompeii, try to park at one of the restaurants and it is worth trying to get a discount! If you have a meal at the restaurant, they can also throw in the parking free of charge. If visiting with children, remember to show your EU passports at Pompeii and Capodimonte Museum to get free access for the children. There is an Auchan supermarket in new Pompeii.
About 10 minutes away from the Capodimonte Museum is a small shopping centre "La Meridiana" - nice stopover for coffee and cakes.
If visiting Capri, you can take the funicular to Capri Town. Lovely cafes (although pricey) - but worth the experience!
If you decide to drive, it is worth having a GPRS - it came in very handy. Also, please beware of the drivers - not much road etiquette. They tend to overtake from whichever lane it takes their fancy!
Sorrento is a lovely town - the Bar Ercolano was very nice for sitting and taking in the sights

“Great hotel to get away, great value, get a car!”
We stayed here three nights for our honeymoon as a base to explore the Amalfi Coast. There are 2 very important things:
1. You must have a car to get around.
2. Spend the extra to get a room with a terrace.

We rented a Hertz car by the train station in Naples to drive to the hotel. Don't spend any time in Naples, get out of there fast! Parking at the hotel is free. You will need the car to get where you want when you want. On day one we drove to Pompeii (about 20 minutes) and spent the day at the pool/spa. On day two we drove down the coast all the way to Positano to visit the Greek ruins. On the third day we spent the day in Sorrento, dropped off the car and went to Capri.
HOTEL: At check in we got the room with a terrace and it is worth it. The room is very contemporary and nicely sized. The terrace was huge with a table and 4 chairs, 2 loungers and 2 side tables with an amazing view of the bay and Mt. Vesuvius. Staff was nice and helpful. The bathroom was very nice with robes/slippers, a ton of spa products, nice deep tub, and small but good shower. The pool was nice to lounge at, but the water was quite chilly while we were there. The spa in the basement was nice with a spa pool and sauna for free use. The spa receptionist gave us a wonderful tour of the entire spa and their services are well priced.
We really loved our stay here. We liked to drive down the coast and be in control of when/where we wanted to go. The hotel is very relaxing and quiet, we highly recommend it.

“Fantastic Stay”
What a great hotel!!
Arrived on Sunday which was a drive from hell with every Italian trying to get to a beach. The hotel is a haven off the main Naples Sorrento road.
Our arrival was great, we were greeted by smiling faces and nothing was too much trouble. We did change rooms as our view was partially obstructed by trees. This was no problem and was completely sorted by the staff. Our second room was on the first floor with magnificent views of Vesuvius.
The pool area is terrific and looked after by a brilliant pool attendant. There is a small beach area with beds and umbrellas.
Breakfast was fine but could have been a bit slicker. The bar area and terrace serves food as well and we ate there a couple of times and found the food excellent and reasonably priced. The bar waiter was great and made us feel so welcome.
Sorrento is great with good shopping in "The Drains" and a great little bay, Marina Grande, where you can sit and have a quiet drink in beautiful surroundings. Piazza Tasso is the place to sit and people watch.
We loved this hotel and would recommend it for a stay on this coast.

Nice accommodations, friendly staff, very nice buffet breakfast. We should have stayed longer.

Thank you so much for everything you did for us in September! The wedding and really the whole experience was unforgettable. The pictures turned out perfect and our family loved them.
There really is no place like Italy and because of your help we were able to have a better experience than we ever could have imagined! From the rose petals, champagne, decorations, photographer and help with transportation among other things, our experience was one of a kind. We won't ever forget it and we wanted you to know how much we truly appreciated your help and involvement!
